Endodontics is the term used for the treatment that consists of the removal and subsequent filling of the nerve or pulp of the tooth.

Why do I need a root canal?
Endodontics is performed on those teeth that present deep cavities with involvement of the nerve that is in the pulp chamber of the tooth.
Other reasons are: possible trauma, abrasion or erosion of the tooth due to wear.
Treatment
Treatment is done under local anesthesia and consists of removing the nerve from the canal or root canals and subsequent filling and sealing with a special filling material.
